CorePanel is a **web hosting control panel**. You give it a server and it gives you
hosting accounts: websites, domains, DNS, email, databases, WordPress, certificates,
backups and a firewall — each managed from one dashboard, or from the CLI.

The unit of everything is the **[hosting account](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/accounts)**: one system user, one
home directory, one primary domain, and all the resources that belong to it. Create an
account and you get a site being served over HTTPS, a DNS zone, a mail identity and an
FTP login, in a single step.

## What CorePanel manages

| Area | What you get |
|---|---|
| **[Accounts](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/accounts)** | Hosting accounts with isolated system users, quotas and limits, reusable as [packages](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/accounts/hosting-packages) |
| **[Domains](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/accounts/domains)** | Primary domains, aliases, addon domains and [subdomains](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/accounts/subdomains), each with its own certificate |
| **[DNS](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/dns)** | An authoritative nameserver with a zone per domain and a full record editor |
| **[Email](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/mail-system)** | Postfix, Dovecot and Rspamd: [mailboxes and forwarders](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/email/mailboxes), SPF/DKIM/DMARC, [deliverability](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/email/deliverability), [antispam](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/email/antispam), [webmail](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/email/webmail) |
| **[Databases](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/accounts/databases)** | MySQL databases and users, with a built-in manager for browsing and querying |
| **[WordPress](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/wordpress)** | One-click installs, adoption of existing sites, updates with rollback, hardening, one-time login links |
| **[Security](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/security/waf)** | A web application firewall, a managed host firewall, automatic TLS certificates |
| **[Backups](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/backups)** | Full account backups, on demand or scheduled, restorable here or on another server |
| **[Notifications](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/notifications)** | One place for everything the server needs to tell you, in the panel and by email |
| **[Migration](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/from-cpanel)** | [Two ways to leave cPanel](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/from-cpanel): import the accounts onto a new server, or transform the server you already have |
| **[Applications](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/applications)** | For the advanced case: deploy your own services and publish them under a domain |

## Where to start

- **New server?** [Getting Started](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/getting-started), then
  [Initial Server Setup](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/initial-setup).
- **Coming from cPanel?** [There are two ways to move](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/from-cpanel) — onto a new
server, or by transforming the one you have. Either way, start with the
  [migration check](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/migration-check).
- **First customer?** [Creating an account](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/accounts/creating), then
  [preparing the domain](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/domain-setup).
- **Automating?** The [CorePanel CLI](https://www.corepanel.net/docs/cli) covers everything the panel does.
